Run a standing exec standup across your life

Career and life work is split across bots with no daily coordination.

What hurt

Alex Finn’s work was split across bots for different parts of his career and life. There was no daily room where those execs had to show their week. He assigned one executive bot per area, put them in an exec channel with a chief of staff, and made the morning standup a CoS routine. His published first-run instruction is to give that post to the chief of staff and say set this up.

What to install or create

Name three to five life or career areas. Create one exec bot per area and keep Chief of Staff as coordinator. Make an Exec Team channel with CoS plus the execs. Paste Alex’s post to CoS and tell it to set the standup as a daily routine. Watch the first run. Nothing ships, sends, or spends from the standup unless you separately say yes.

Bots

  • Chief of Staff

Owns the daily standup routine and keeps the room honest.

  • Execs

One per area. Author named chief content, community, and SaaS officers.

Plugins

  • None on day one. Paste the prompt and run the first task.

Routines

  • Daily morning standup, owned by the chief of staff, after you have watched one manual run.

The prompt

Give this post to your Chief of Staff

Alex posted this as the first-run instruction: give the post to your Chief of Staff. Copied as published.

Last line is our approval fence: Never send, post, spend, or buy without my explicit yes.

You NEED to do this with Grok Bot

Probably my favorite workflow yet. For each area of your career/life assign an executive bot

I have a chief content officer, chief community officer, chief SaaS officer etc...

Then put them all in an exec channel. Every morning have a standup meeting. Each exec goes over:

1. What they did the last day
2. Their goal this week
3. Where they stand against it
4. One move today to get closer

Then at the end, each exec gives feedback, advice, and how they can help the other execs to achieve their goals

If you set this up the right way, it's a MASSIVE unlock that will increase your team's productivity

They key is having an exec with a good description/memories for each area of your life, and having a chief of staff managing the standup

Also key to have bot employees under each exec. Typically I have developers and researchers depending on the department

Then set this standup as a routine for your chief of staff, and he will make sure it's run every day

Wondering how to set it up? Literally just give this post to your chief of staff and say 'bro set this up'

Never send, post, spend, or buy without my explicit yes.

First run

  1. 1Name 3–5 life or career areas (for example content, community, SaaS).
  2. 2Create one exec bot per area and keep Chief of Staff as coordinator.
  3. 3Create an Exec Team channel with CoS plus the execs.
  4. 4Paste the block above to CoS and say set this up as a daily routine.
  5. 5Review the first standup. Nothing ships, sends, or spends without your yes.

Approval fence

Standup is internal. Do not send emails, posts, payments, or PRs from the standup unless you separately approve.

What to tweak

Steal the four lines and the CoS routine, not Alex’s departments. His examples were content, community, and SaaS. Yours can be different. Bot employees under each exec stay optional until the standup itself is useful. The standup is internal.
