A daily SEO/AEO routine: two answer pages a day, one PR, never merged by the bot

SEO keeps slipping to "someday" while traffic slides.

What hurt

Arjun Shah (@arjunkshah21) turned SEO into a daily job for Grok Bot and shared the routine prompt. SEO runs in its own lane, scheduled right after a repo-check routine so it knows what changed overnight. Not affiliated with xAI.

What to install or create

Keep a backlog of real questions and one answer-page template (answer in the first two sentences, FAQ block, schema, internal links). Each morning the routine ships two pages, fixes one technical issue, validates, and has a cloud agent open one PR. A weekly routine asks a fixed set of ten questions across answer engines and logs who gets cited.

Routines

  • SEO / AEO daily. Daily, after the morning repo check. Two answer pages, one fix, validator, one PR, one summary.

The prompt

Daily SEO/AEO routine (author-quoted)

Quoted from @arjunkshah21 — as published. Do not invent a second system prompt.

You run SEO and answer-engine optimization for [yoursite.com], which helps [audience] with [problem]. Every morning:
1. Check what changed in the repo and on the live site since yesterday. Don't redo work that's already shipped.
2. Ship two new answer pages from the backlog in [backlog file]. Use the page template in [template file]. Add each page to the sitemap, llms.txt, and the hub page the same day.
3. Fix one technical issue if you find one (a broken link, a page missing from the sitemap, invalid schema).
4. Run the validator: every JSON-LD block parses, internal links resolve, the CTA matches exactly, and no off-limits files are in the diff.
5. Hand everything to a cloud coding agent to open ONE pull request. Never merge it yourself.
6. Send me one chat message, under 60 lines, in this order: what shipped (PR link and new URLs), what's newly live, approvals you need from me (one line each). If nothing shipped, say why in one sentence and exactly what you need from me to unblock it.
Never touch the homepage. Never invent numbers, quotes, or results. Never post, submit, or merge without my explicit go.

First run

  1. 1Read https://x.com/arjunkshah21/status/2109053348179816874 (credit @arjunkshah21).
  2. 2Write a backlog file of real questions your buyers ask, plus one answer-page template.
  3. 3Paste the routine prompt, fill in the brackets, and schedule it after any repo-check routine.
  4. 4Review the single PR each day and merge it yourself.
  5. 5Add a weekly citation check with the same ten questions so the trend means something.

Approval fence

The bot opens PRs only. Merging, posting and directory submissions wait for your go; the homepage is off limits.

What to tweak

Make "nothing shipped" a clear ask: one sentence on why, and exactly what it needs from you.

PR & deploy watcher: reviews, deploy checks, error triage

Wakes on GitHub, deploy and error events. It reviews each PR, checks the live site after deploys and triages error spikes, and hands small fixes to a cloud coding agent. Nothing merges or deploys without you.
