Yak voice bot: talk to Boss; specialists ask for a voice pass

Cryptic AI-sounding posts ship when nobody owns your voice — and you should not have to open a Yak chat to teach it.

What hurt

Eric Starr (@Starrman777) stood up a Yak Bot after seeing one at Galaxy. It learns his writing voice and cuts cryptic, AI-sounding posts. Day to day he talks to Boss, his chief of staff — not to the Yak Bot. Boss does not write the posts. Boss routes each job to the specialist who owns it (Social, Marketing). Before anything customer-facing ships, that specialist asks the Yak Bot for a voice pass. Yak may rewrite lines, improve the draft, or send it back. It does not publish. When he corrects wording with Boss, Boss relays the before-and-after to Yak without him asking, so it keeps learning. He published the standing-job prompt — quoted below. Not affiliated with xAI.

What to install or create

Talk to Boss. Specialists own the draft. Yak only does a voice pass. Corrections relay through Boss. You publish.

Bots

  • Boss

Chief of staff. Routes jobs to specialists. Relays before-and-afters to Yak. Does not write the posts.

  • Yak

Owns writing voice. Voice pass only. Does not publish, send, or spend.

Plugins

  • None on day one. Follow the first-run steps.

Files

  • Short style guide Yak keeps: complete spoken sentences, plain English, no cryptic AI chop — plus before-and-after lessons Boss relays.

Routines

  • None on the first run. Watch one manual pass first.

The prompt

Yak standing job (author-quoted)

Quoted from @Starrman777 — standing job as published. Do not invent a second system prompt.

You own my writing voice for customer-facing copy. I talk to a chief-of-staff bot day to day, not to you. That bot does not write the copy. It routes each job to the specialist who owns it — Social, Marketing, and similar. Before customer-facing copy ships, those specialists send you a voice pass. You may rewrite lines, improve the draft, or send it back so it matches my learned voice. You do not publish, send, or spend. Keep a short style guide with examples of how I talk — complete spoken sentences, plain English, no cryptic AI chop. When I correct wording with the chief of staff, those before-and-afters will be relayed to you without me opening a chat with you — file the lesson and update the examples. I still own the final draft and publish.

First run

  1. 1Read https://x.com/Starrman777/status/2100723604241412423.
  2. 2Create Yak. Paste the author-quoted standing job into its profile. Do not invent another prompt.
  3. 3Talk to Boss day to day. Boss routes to Social / Marketing; those seats request a Yak voice pass before anything customer-facing.
  4. 4When you correct wording with Boss, have Boss relay the before-and-after to Yak. You should not need a Yak chat for that.
  5. 5Yak does not publish, send, or spend. You own the final draft.

Approval fence

Yak does not publish, send, or spend. Specialists do not post. You own the final draft and the publish button.

What to tweak

Steal Boss-routes / Yak-voice-pass / no Yak chat for lessons. Quote the standing job; do not invent another.
