Weekly: compare Grok Bot's release notes with how you actually use it

A new feature could replace your workaround, and you'd keep doing it the hard way for weeks.

What hurt

Michael (@Michael_Fenech_) suggests a Monday routine that reads the official release notes and maps them onto your routines, connected apps, workarounds and recurring complaints. Not affiliated with xAI.

What to install or create

The routine covers changes since the last successful check (seven days on the first run), recommends up to three changes, and for each names the job it helps, how you do it today, what it could replace, the smallest test, and the source. If nothing is relevant it says so.

Bots

  • Main bot

Reads release notes weekly and suggests up to three tests.

Plugins

  • None on day one. Follow the first-run steps.

Routines

  • Release notes vs my setup. Mondays 8:00. Up to three sourced recommendations, or "nothing relevant".

The prompt

Weekly release-notes routine (author-quoted)

Quoted from @Michael_Fenech_ — as published. Do not invent a second system prompt.

Create a weekly routine for Monday at 8am.

Read the official Grok Bot release notes since your last successful check. On the first run, cover the previous seven days.

Compare those changes with my current setup and recent problems, using the context you can access. Flag anything you can’t verify.

Recommend up to three changes worth considering.

For each one, tell me:

1 - Which specific job or problem it helps with.

2 - How I handle that job today.

3 - What the update could improve or replace.

4 - The smallest test we could run to check whether it’s better.

Include the source for each recommendation.

If nothing is relevant, say so. Don’t fill the list.

Don’t change my setup without approval.

First run

  1. 1Read https://x.com/Michael_Fenech_/status/2108145378323542306 (credit @Michael_Fenech_).
  2. 2Paste his prompt to the bot that knows your setup best.
  3. 3Check the first run's recommendations name a real job and a small test.
  4. 4Run one suggested test before changing anything.
  5. 5Let it say "nothing relevant" on quiet weeks instead of filling the list.

Approval fence

The prompt ends with "Don't change my setup without approval."

What to tweak

An update only matters when it improves something you actually do.
