Work

Skills into a private GitHub repo; voice-dump then “restate”

Long chats drift; skills die with the thread unless you store them.

What hurt

@poteto's 2026-10-31 team guide (ask @bot to read the post) includes two especially stealable moves beyond the usual few-good-bots advice: (1) as you instruct tasks, tell bots to create skills — and optionally a private GitHub repo to keep them; (2) favorite tip — voice/transcription brain dump, then “restate this in your own words” so you confirm understanding. Also: connectors + Vault, bot-owned email, ask how to remove copy-paste loops. Tip only. Not affiliated with xAI.

What to install or create

Teach a task → “save as skill” (+ optional private repo) → voice dump → demand restate.

Bots

  • No new bot. Follow the first-run steps.

Plugins

  • GitHub

    Optional

Routines

  • None on the first run. Watch one manual pass first.

The prompt

This is a tip, not a pasteable system prompt. The author did not publish one. Follow the first-run steps.

First run

  1. 1Read https://x.com/poteto/status/2116576229319233596 (credit @poteto); optionally ask @bot to read it.
  2. 2While teaching a recurring task, tell the bot to create a skill for itself.
  3. 3Optionally: ask it to create a private GitHub repo and store skills there independently.
  4. 4Brain-dump via voice/transcription; end with “restate this in your own words” and correct mismatches.
  5. 5Add connectors/Vault as needed; keep the roster to a few good bots.

Approval fence

Private repo stays private; Vault for secrets; bot email signups still need your OK.

What to tweak

Steal skill-to-repo + restate-after-voice; keep the team small.
