Inbox bot drops scam mail silently — you never see it

Scam mail with convincing links still reaches your eyes if the bot only "flags".

What hurt

Texas Twins Dad (@Texas_Twins_Dad) has an Inbox Grok Bot scan each message (many with links). If it detects a scam, it does not even report the email — so he never deals with it or risks clicking. Distinct from a parent-shield that still surfaces questions: this path is silent drop after detection. Not affiliated with xAI.

What to install or create

Scan → if scam, silent drop / no report. Keep a weekly quarantine review optional.

  1. 1Read https://x.com/Texas_Twins_Dad/status/2110163548533932307 (credit @Texas_Twins_Dad).
  2. 2Connect Gmail. Tell the bot: scan new mail for scams/phishing links; if scam, quarantine without notifying me each time.
  3. 3For the first two weeks, also keep a weekly digest of what it quarantined (catch false positives).
  4. 4Tighten rules after you review misses/false positives.
  5. 5Never grant send.

Approval fence

May label/archive/quarantine scam. Never send. Review false positives weekly at first.

What to tweak

Steal silent-drop after scam detect. Optional weekly quarantine audit.
