Work
Give every routine a 3-line header and an end condition
Old routines drift and temporary watches keep firing for weeks after the thing resolved.
What hurt
ShareGrokBots.com (@ShareGrokBots) shared two connected habits: start every routine prompt with Job / For / Done when, and audit what you have running by asking each one “when does this stop?” Not affiliated with xAI.
What to install or create
Header first, instructions underneath. Then sort routines into three kinds: event watches delete themselves after the final event; scheduled watches carry a real date and remove themselves after it; ongoing ones say so in the first line.

Files
Routine header: Job (what it produces) / For (who reads it, where it lands) / Done when (stop or delete condition).

None on the first run. Watch one manual pass first.
The prompt
This is a tip, not a pasteable system prompt. The author did not publish one. Follow the first-run steps.
First run
- 1Read https://x.com/ShareGrokBots/status/2107156416494485954 and https://x.com/ShareGrokBots/status/2107245247017222318 (credit @ShareGrokBots).
- 2Ask your bot to list every routine you have running, with what triggers it.
- 3For each one, add the header lines Job, For, and Done when above the existing instructions.
- 4Event watches: delete after the final event. Date watches: put a real date in the prompt and remove after it. Ongoing: say so in line one.
- 5Delete any routine whose Done when has already happened.
Approval fence
Review the list before deleting anything; keep ongoing digests you still read.
What to tweak
Reviews take seconds because you compare output to the header, and cleanup is easy because any routine whose “Done when” already happened can go.
