Praise the bot once; it writes what worked back into the skill
One great output, then the next run slips back to the old habit.
What hurt
@stansKoya’s daily tip #7: when you say “this one’s good,” the bot runs a four-step prompt — find the routine/skill, list checkable wins, turn them into reusable rules, write them back and save an example. Idea credited to @Michael_Fenech_. Author-quoted. Not affiliated with xAI.
What to install or create
Paste four-step praise prompt → next time you praise, bot updates the skill → spot-check the diff.
Bots
Praise-to-rule writer
When you praise an output, writes what worked back into the routine or skill.
Plugins
None on day one. Follow the first-run steps.
Routines
None on the first run. Watch one manual pass first.
The prompt
Praise → write rules back into skill/routine (author-quoted)
Quoted from @stansKoya — as published. Do not invent a second system prompt.
When I praise an output, do these four steps on the spot: 1. Find this output and the routine or skill that produced it. 2. List what it specifically did right in checkable terms (structure, length, tone, sources, format) — no vague “high quality”; if unsure which part I liked, list options for me to check. 3. Turn those into reusable next-time rules; strip one-off details. 4. Write the rules back into that routine or skill, save this output as an example, and tell me which lines changed. Next time you produce, self-check against step 3.
First run
- 1Read https://x.com/stansKoya/status/2114872202185093137 (credit @stansKoya; idea from @Michael_Fenech_).
- 2Paste the author-quoted four-step praise prompt into standing instructions or a skill.
- 3Next time an output is right, say “this one’s good” (or your phrase).
- 4Review the lines it wrote back into the routine/skill and the saved example.
- 5On the next run, check that it self-audits against those rules.
Approval fence
Bot edits its own skill/routine text; you still approve anything it sends or posts.
What to tweak
Steal the quoted four steps; praise becomes standing rules.
