First day on Grok Bot: connect your apps and stay with one bot

New users rush to build a team of bots before the first one knows anything about their work.

What hurt

Lauren (@poteto), who builds Grok Bot at SpaceXAI, posted her first-day advice: connect the apps you use so the bot has context and tools, and do everything with your primary bot before adding more. Not affiliated with xAI.

What to install or create

Connect your calendar, chat, issue tracker, CRM, and drive. Use the primary bot for everything at first; it's capable on its own. Add bots later for specialization, for example one bot per customer in GTM, or a specialist for a single step like outreach.

Bots

Routines

  • None on the first run. Watch one manual pass first.

The prompt

This is a tip, not a pasteable system prompt. The author did not publish one. Follow the first-run steps.

First run

  1. 1Read https://x.com/poteto/status/2107830403549831186 (credit @poteto).
  2. 2Connect the apps you use every day: calendar, chat, issue tracker, CRM, files.
  3. 3Give your primary bot real tasks for a few days without making new bots.
  4. 4Note where it gets crowded: one customer, one step, one area of life.
  5. 5Only then add a specialist bot for that piece.

Approval fence

No send, spend, or publish step here. Keep your usual ask-first rules on.

What to tweak

Context first, team later.
