Chained bot → cloud agent → repo: on failure, tell me and stop

One outage took out Grok Bot, Cloud Agents, and Origin together — blind retries burn tokens.

What hurt

@koko668800 tip during a multi-service degrade: Grok Bot, Cloud Agents, and Origin failed together while regular Grok chat was fine. If your workflow chains bot → cloud agent → repo, one incident kills the whole chain — give each routine an "on failure, tell me and stop" rule instead of blind retries. Tip only. What to install or create

Edit each chained routine → add on-failure notify + stop → drop silent retries.

Bots

  • No new bot. Follow the first-run steps.

Plugins

  • None on day one. Follow the first-run steps.

Routines

  • On any bot→cloud-agent→repo routine: on failure, tell me and stop — no blind retries.

The prompt

This is a tip, not a pasteable system prompt. The author did not publish one. Follow the first-run steps.

First run

  1. 1Read https://x.com/koko668800/status/2115582005979078711 (credit @koko668800).
  2. 2List routines that chain Grok Bot → Cloud Agent / Origin → repo or deploy.
  3. 3Add a standing rule: on failure, tell me and stop — no blind retries.
  4. 4Optionally page yourself (chat/SMS) with the error summary; you decide when to re-run.
  5. 5After an incident, re-enable only when status is green — don't leave retry loops on.

Approval fence

Bot reports failure to you; it does not keep retrying the broken chain.

What to tweak

Steal the on-failure stop rule for any multi-hop automation.
