Life
Walk into a store; your bot pings only the errands you can finish there
Errands pile up in chats, and you only remember them after you leave the store.
What hurt
Mike P (@mikepat711) keeps one shared Errands list in Notion that every bot can write to. Not affiliated with xAI.
What to install or create
Bots tag each item by place type (hardware, grocery, pharmacy). A Grok Bot routine listens on a webhook. An iPhone Shortcut fires when he arrives at a regular store, POSTs the place name with a Bearer key, and the bot replies only with open items for that place—or stays quiet.
Bots
No new bot. Follow the first-run steps.
Plugins
Notion
Optional
Routines
Store arrival check. Webhook from iPhone Shortcuts when you arrive at a named store. Read Errands for that place type; ping only open items; stay quiet if none.
The prompt
This is a tip, not a pasteable system prompt. The author did not publish one. Follow the first-run steps.
First run
- 1Read https://x.com/mikepat711/status/2109354909053128900 (credit @mikepat711).
- 2Create a shared Notion Errands database with a place-type column and connect Notion to your bot.
- 3Ask the bot to add a webhook routine that reads open errands for a given place.
- 4On iPhone Shortcuts, make Arrive automations per store that POST {"place":"StoreName"} with your Bearer key.
- 5When it pings, grab the items; tell the bot what you got so it checks them off.
Approval fence
Checking an item off after you buy it is fine; never let the bot place an order without your OK on the exact cart.
What to tweak
Quiet when the list is empty is the feature, not a bug.
