A watchlist bot whose most valuable log word is "nothing"

Bots asked for three findings will stretch nothing into something.

What hurt

Yaori (@Pashoke1) runs a watchlist bot whose runs mostly end with "nothing", and writes one line per run to a log in /workspace because routines only keep the last 20 runs. Not affiliated with xAI.

What to install or create

Three rules do the work: nothing passes, say nothing and stop; every number needs a source and timestamp, and anything over 60 minutes old is stale and gets no action; hit a login wall, stop instead of summarizing it. A pick that passes must say why, why now and where it's wrong, then waits on Ask first. A five-line daily brief ends with the one decision needed.

Bots

  • Watchlist bot

Checks filters on a schedule and logs every run.

Plugins

  • Browser

    Optional

Routines

  • Watchlist checks. Several times a day. Apply the rules; log one line; say nothing if nothing passes.

  • Daily brief. Afternoon. Five lines: ran, empty, flagged, waiting, needed from you.

The prompt

His rules and log format (author-quoted)

Quoted from @Pashoke1 — as published. Do not invent a second system prompt.

"if nothing passes, reply nothing and stop."
"every number needs a source and a timestamp. older than 60 minutes is stale. stale means no action."
"hit a login, stop. don't guess what was behind it."
copy this log format into your skill:
time | routine | ok / empty / STALE / retry | what it found | duration

First run

  1. 1Read https://x.com/Pashoke1/status/2108469500207055205 (credit @Pashoke1).
  2. 2Add his three rules (no-data, stale-data, login stop) to your watchlist bot's skill.
  3. 3Have every run append one line in his log format to a file in /workspace.
  4. 4Require why / why now / where it's wrong for any pick, and set orders to Ask first.
  5. 5Paper trade until the log shows the bot says "nothing" when it should.

Approval fence

Orders sit on Ask first in Auto-review: the bot prepares the ticket and waits. Not financial advice; he says most trading bots lose money, so paper trade first.

What to tweak

A log full of "nothing" and "stale" is a bot that refuses to make things up.
