Move newsletters to a bot-only inbox and get one Saturday digest
Newsletters crowd out the mail you actually want to read.
What hurt
@gokul_i moved every newsletter off personal Gmail into a separate inbox that only the Grok Bot reads. Every Saturday the bot sends one digest of all of them, and the personal inbox is back to things they read by hand. Not affiliated with xAI.
What to install or create
Separate inbox → bot reads → weekly digest.
Bots
Digest bot
Reads the newsletter inbox and writes the Saturday digest.
Plugins
Gmail
Optional
Routines
Newsletter digest. Every Saturday (author's setup). One digest of every newsletter in the bot inbox.
The prompt
This is a tip, not a pasteable system prompt. The author did not publish one. Follow the first-run steps.
First run
- 1Read https://x.com/gokul_i/status/2112731302294368657 (credit @gokul_i).
- 2Give your bot its own inbox (or a separate address).
- 3Switch newsletter subscriptions to that address.
- 4Ask for one digest of all of them every Saturday.
- 5Unsubscribe from anything the digest shows you never read.
What to tweak
Steal the split: subscriptions go to the bot's address, not yours.
