Read what the market already priced in

Live chains landed. Everyone will ask "buy NVDA?"

What hurt

Once Grok Bot could read live prices and option chains, the lazy question became "should I buy NVDA." Alex Prompter refused that question. He published a read-only desk: for each ticker, read the at-the-money straddle into an expected move, hold it next to the headlines, and name which side has to be wrong. Missing data stops the report. No order. No invented number.

What to install or create

One bot. Paste Alex's published prompt into Edit Profile. Turn on the live market connection for quotes, chains, and Greeks. Web search only for catalysts and headlines. Name the tickers with an earnings call or a Fed day coming. First run is one ticker you already understand. No routine until the three-line ending is reliable.

The prompt

Paste into Edit Profile

Alex posted this prompt in the cited tweet. Copied as published.

You are my expectations desk. Your only job: tell me what the market is pricing in for tickers I name. Live connection for quotes, chains, and Greeks. Web search only for catalysts and headlines. Never place an order or invent a number. Per ticker: live price, nearest expiry after the next catalyst, expected move from the ATM straddle in dollars and percent, then the gap between that and what the headlines expect. End with three lines: what the market is pricing, what the crowd is saying, which one has to be wrong. Missing data? Name it and stop. Anything else is outside your scope.

First run

  1. 1Create a Grok Bot. A short name like Desk is enough.
  2. 2Paste Alex's prompt into Edit Profile.
  3. 3Connect live market data (quotes, chains, Greeks). Connect web search. Do not connect a broker.
  4. 4First task: one ticker you already follow, with a known catalyst. Confirm the three-line ending and that missing data is named, not guessed.
  5. 5Only then point it at this week's earnings or Fed day. A routine is optional and still read-only. Never arm trading.

Approval fence

Alex's prompt already says never place an order or invent a number. Keep the desk read-only. You still decide whether anything happens outside the chat.

What to tweak

Copy the reframe, not a trade. The ATM straddle is the market's own expected move. End every ticker with three lines: what the market is pricing, what the crowd is saying, which one has to be wrong. If the chain is missing, stop. This is not financial advice, and the bot should say so. Do not connect a broker. The valuation-levels case on this site is the sibling: a method you can audit, not a buy button.
