Want your app in Grok Bot's connector list? The route is a Cursor Marketplace plugin

You built an MCP server and can't find a submission form for Grok Bot.

What hurt

wholistic (@wholisticguy) traced it: there's no Grok Bot submission form, because its connector list is built from Cursor plugins. Not affiliated with xAI.

What to install or create

Put a public repo with a .cursor-plugin/plugin.json manifest and an mcp.json pointing at a remote MCP server (Grok Bot can't run local stdio servers), and submit it to the Cursor Marketplace. Review is by hand with no status page; replies come by email (marketplace-publishing@cursor.com). The xAI catalog PR process feeds Grok Build, and nothing he found says it feeds Grok Bot.

Bots

  • Dev bot

Prepares the plugin repo and manifest.

Plugins

  • GitHub

Routines

  • None on the first run. Watch one manual pass first.

The prompt

This is a tip, not a pasteable system prompt. The author did not publish one. Follow the first-run steps.

First run

  1. 1Read https://x.com/wholisticguy/status/2108016285938561067 (credit @wholisticguy).
  2. 2Host your MCP server remotely (no local stdio).
  3. 3Create a public repo, ideally under your company org, with .cursor-plugin/plugin.json and mcp.json.
  4. 4Request only the permissions you need, then submit to the Cursor Marketplace.
  5. 5Watch your email for the review reply.

Approval fence

Submitting is a public listing under your org; get sign-off before you submit.

What to tweak

Publish from your company's official GitHub org and ask only for the permissions you need.
