Chat is not the company brain — Hub + Origin vs Notion

Chat history feels like the brain until production detail goes missing.

What hurt

wtygart kept learning the expensive way: treating chat as the company brain. Production detail (memory, handoffs, receipts) lived nowhere durable. Voice and Phone Grok then depended on that mess.

What to install or create

Split seats. Production = Laptop Hub mirrored to Cursor Origin (Desktop + Grok Bot share that brain; Origin ≈ GitHub). Executive / voice = Notion summaries only — if it is not on a Notion card, voice should not depend on it. Personal Second Brain stays its own Origin repo. Online Grok ≠ Grok Bot.

Bots

  • Production seat

Works off Hub + Origin. Depth, handoffs, receipts. Escalates irreversible changes.

Plugins

  • Notion

    Optional

Routines

  • None on the first run. Watch one manual pass first.

The prompt

This is a tip, not a pasteable system prompt. The author did not publish one. Follow the first-run steps.

First run

  1. 1Read https://x.com/wtygart/status/2096751471463432533 for the split.
  2. 2Put production truth on a Laptop Hub (or equivalent) and mirror it to Cursor Origin so Desktop and Grok Bot share one brain.
  3. 3Keep executive / voice answers on Notion cards only — decisions, priorities, what's next.
  4. 4Separate personal Second Brain Origin repo from company Hub.
  5. 5Stop treating chat history as durable memory.

Approval fence

Do not delete GitHub mirrors, move secrets, or change production Hub without your yes.

What to tweak

executive = Notion · production = Hub mirrored to Origin · chat = last mile, not the brain.
