Point Grok Bot at Figma through Cursor Customize

No dedicated Grok Bot Figma plugin. The Cursor path works.

What hurt

Kinopee wanted Grok Bot to talk to Figma. There is no dedicated Grok Bot Figma plugin. The workaround is the Cursor path: Cursor → Customize → Plugins → Figma. After that install, Grok Bot recognizes it. He posted a follow-up with a Grok Bot × Figma example.

What to install or create

One helper bot named Figma Link. No invented system prompt — this page is the install tip. In Cursor, open Customize → Plugins and install Figma. Then open Grok Bot and verify it can see the Figma connection. Optional browser if you need to inspect a file URL. First task is a name-check, not a rewrite of a live file.

Bots

  • Figma Link

Sees the Cursor Customize Figma plugin. Name-check first.

Plugins

  • Browser

    Optional

Files

  • A Figma file you own, only after the connection shows up.

Routines

  • None on the first run. Watch one manual pass first.

The prompt

This is a tip, not a pasteable system prompt. The author did not publish one. Follow the first-run steps.

First run

  1. 1In Cursor, open Customize → Plugins and install Figma.
  2. 2Create a Grok Bot named Figma Link. Do not invent a Figma system prompt.
  3. 3Ask: "What Figma connections can you see?" Stop if Figma is missing — go back to Cursor Customize.
  4. 4Optional: open Kinopee's follow-up example at https://x.com/kinopee_ai/status/2094351603230994438, then point your bot at one file you own for a name-check only.
  5. 5If you later let it edit frames, keep writes behind a yes. No send, no spend.

Approval fence

No send, post, or spend. Design edits stay behind your yes. A name-check does not need approval.

What to tweak

Steal the install path, not a made-up Figma persona. If Grok Bot still cannot see Figma, the plugin is not installed in Cursor Customize. Do not invent a Figma system prompt. Keep writes behind a yes.
