All your bots share one inbox identity inside Basecamp project spaces.

What hurt

Andrew Wicklander (@andrewwicklandr) tips Basecamp users driving agents with Grok Bot: use email + tags so each agent gets its own address. If your bot mail is yourcompany@mail.grokbot.com, set yourcompany+accountant@mail.grokbot.com and add just the accountant bot to the accounting project space. Tell Grok you want bots to have different logins and it sets it up. Some bots talk with you in project spaces; others stay out as subroutines the Basecamp-login bots manage. Not affiliated with xAI.

What to install or create

Plus-tag per agent → add only that bot to the matching Basecamp space.

Bots

  • Per-space agents

Each plus-tag login joins only its Basecamp project space.

Plugins

  • Gmail

    Optional

Routines

  • None on the first run. Watch one manual pass first.

The prompt

This is a tip, not a pasteable system prompt. The author did not publish one. Follow the first-run steps.

First run

  1. 1Read https://x.com/andrewwicklandr/status/2112699935393009804 (credit @andrewwicklandr).
  2. 2Note your Grok Bot email (e.g. yourcompany@mail.grokbot.com).
  3. 3Ask Grok Bot to give bots different logins via plus tags (e.g. +accountant).
  4. 4Add only that bot's plus address to the matching Basecamp project space.
  5. 5Keep other bots out of the space as subroutines the Basecamp-login bots manage.

Approval fence

You choose which bots get Basecamp logins vs stay as subroutines.

What to tweak

Steal plus-tag identities so project spaces only see the right bot.
