Video too big for the chat? Hand it to your bot through Google Drive

Large video files won't upload into the chat window.

What hurt

We Setup Agents (@Agints_com) posted a quick workaround: put the file in Google Drive, connect Drive to your bot, and tell it where the file is. Not affiliated with xAI.

What to install or create

The bot downloads the video onto its own computer from Drive, and from there it can use it or upload it wherever your project needs it.

Bots

  • Main bot

Downloads the video from Drive to its computer and uses it in your project.

Plugins

  • None on day one. Follow the first-run steps.

Routines

  • None on the first run. Watch one manual pass first.

The prompt

This is a tip, not a pasteable system prompt. The author did not publish one. Follow the first-run steps.

First run

  1. 1Read https://x.com/Agints_com/status/2107712983245701282 (credit @Agints_com).
  2. 2Upload the video to Google Drive.
  3. 3Connect Google Drive to your bot.
  4. 4Tell it the file name or folder.
  5. 5Ask it to download the file to its computer, then say what to do with it.

Approval fence

If it uploads the video somewhere public, have it ask you first.

What to tweak

When the chat can't carry the file, give the bot a place to fetch it from.
