What hurt

@DhalgrenMarquis tip after the phone-apps rollout: the Grok Bot app was not showing in location privacy settings. You have to ask your bot to set up permissions. Not affiliated with xAI.

What to install or create

Ask bot to request Calendar/Reminders/Contacts/location → approve on the phone prompts.

Bots

  • Phone bot

Requests the phone permissions it needs for calendar, reminders, contacts, location.

Plugins

  • Calendar

    Optional

Routines

  • None on the first run. Watch one manual pass first.

The prompt

This is a tip, not a pasteable system prompt. The author did not publish one. Follow the first-run steps.

First run

  1. 1Read https://x.com/DhalgrenMarquis/status/2113396855371657615 (credit @DhalgrenMarquis).
  2. 2On the phone, open a chat with the bot that should use Calendar, Reminders, Contacts, or location.
  3. 3Ask it to set up the permissions it needs.
  4. 4Approve or deny each system prompt yourself.
  5. 5Retry the original phone task once the toggles appear.

Approval fence

You tap Allow/Deny on the system prompts; the bot only requests.

What to tweak

Steal the move: if the toggle is missing, ask the bot to initiate the permission flow.
