Turn a process into an animated flow diagram: describe boxes and links in JSON, render to MP4

A static diagram can't show a step-by-step process, and making motion graphics by hand is slow.

What hurt

Fynor (@finderonia) made a moving flow chart of what happens to a post after it's published, in 10 steps, with the signal and tip for each step highlighted in turn. The diagram uses @YuLin807's open-source live-panel skill. Not affiliated with xAI.

What to install or create

You write one JSON file describing the boxes, what connects to what and what each step says; the skill renders it as an animated diagram with flowing light, exported as MP4 or a web page. It took four revisions working with Grok Bot.

The prompt

This is a tip, not a pasteable system prompt. The author did not publish one. Follow the first-run steps.

First run

  1. 1Read https://x.com/finderonia/status/2109042088495202761 (credit @finderonia).
  2. 2Write the steps of your process as a short list.
  3. 3Ask your bot to install the live-panel skill and turn the list into its JSON format.
  4. 4Render, watch it, and ask for revisions (expect a few rounds).
  5. 5Export the MP4 or web page.

Approval fence

Review the final video before you post it yourself.

What to tweak

Let the bot draft and revise the JSON; you judge the flow.
