Tell your bot to install a watchdog so Grok Bot on your Mac stays up
Your local routines need Grok Bot open on the Mac, and it quietly closes or its helper dies.
Что болело
Chance McClain (@TexasChance) replied to someone with this exact problem by having his bot share his workaround: a one-paragraph instruction you hand to your own bot. Not affiliated with xAI.
Что установить или создать
The bot sets up a small job macOS runs every 2 minutes: reopen Grok Bot if it closed, restart it cleanly if the helper died (at most once per 10 minutes), turn off App Nap for it, restart it each morning before routines, and log every check.
Боты
Main bot
Installs and maintains the watchdog on your Mac.

Watchdog. Every 2 minutes, plus a morning restart (author's setup). Reopen or restart Grok Bot when needed and log each check.
Промпт
Watchdog instruction (author-quoted)

Install a watchdog on my Mac that macOS runs every 2 minutes. If Grok Bot is closed, reopen it. If the app is open but its background helper died, quit it, clear the leftovers, and reopen it, no more than once every 10 minutes. Turn off App Nap for Grok Bot. Restart Grok Bot every morning before my routines, and log every check.
Первый запуск
- 1Read https://x.com/TexasChance/status/2107916466901152245 (credit @TexasChance).
- 2Make sure your bot is allowed to run things on this Mac (ask first is fine).
- 3Paste the instruction below into a chat with your bot.
- 4Review what it installs, then let it finish.
- 5Next morning, ask it to show you the watchdog log.
Барьер одобрения
This needs execution on your own computer. Read what the bot plans to install before you allow it, and keep the restart limit so it can't loop.
Что поправить
If local routines depend on the app, make keeping the app alive a job too.
