Daily research digest: one cited page, plus a watcher that stays quiet
Newsletters go to your bot’s address, X topics and feeds get read for you, and one cited page lands at 07:30 with why each item matters to your work. A separate watcher speaks only when your named triggers fire.
Based on the free use-case: /use-cases/newsletter-to-bot-email-daily-digest
The payoff
One research digest a day that you actually read. Newsletters stop landing in your inbox and go to your bot's own address instead. Your X topics, a handful of sites or feeds, and (if you want) new papers get read for you. At 07:30 you get one page: what happened, why it matters to your work, and every claim linked to its source. A separate watcher stays silent for weeks and speaks up only when something you named as a real change actually happens.
What it replaces: twenty unread newsletters, a "read later" list you never read, and the low-grade fear of missing the one thing that mattered. Count your subscriptions and the minutes you spend skimming them now. That's your baseline.
Who this is for
- Founders, investors, analysts, researchers, engineers and creators who need to stay current in one or two fields.
- Anyone whose inbox is half newsletters.
How it works
| Piece | What it does |
|---|---|
| Bot email address | You subscribe newsletters to it (or forward them with a Gmail filter). Your inbox stays clean |
| Digest bot | Reads newsletters, X topics and your feeds; writes one cited page at 07:30 |
| Watcher bot | Checks a short list of "this would change my mind" triggers daily; silent unless one fires |
| Archive | Every digest saved as Markdown, searchable later |
A taste: the "stay quiet" pattern that makes it readable
From Alvaro Cintas's ten X routines (@dr_cintas): end every research routine with one line.
If nothing qualifies, don't message me.
And from lauren (@poteto), the line that turns a list of links into something useful: "pick the coolest ideas and suggest how I can use it to improve my workflow." Both are built into every routine in this pack.
Where this comes from
- Newsletters to the bot's address, one daily summary: DBCrypto (@DBCrypt0). Free use-case: /use-cases/newsletter-to-bot-email-daily-digest.
- Forward only newsletters with a Gmail filter: @tukiyomiiori.
- Daily digest plus "how I can use it": lauren (@poteto), /use-cases/daily-x-ideas-digest-for-your-workflow.
- A watcher for structural change, not news: @unicome163. Cite or stop: Arian (@arianlooterking).
- Paper scan mapped to your own repo: Jason Shen (@jason_shen_2000).
