Scam shield for a parent's inbox, plus a “is this a scam?” habit
Older parents get flooded with scammy email and texts, and the worried phone call comes after they've opened it.
نقطة الألم
Roj Niyogi (@niyogi) calls his favorite use “mom-tainenance”: he connected a Grok Bot to his 78-year-old mom's Gmail to catch scammy and spammy emails before she opens them, then taught her to screenshot texts, upload them to the bot, and ask “is this a scam”. Not affiliated with xAI.
ماذا تثبّت أو تنشئ
Two layers. The bot sweeps your parent's inbox for scams and spam before they see it. For texts, which the bot can't read, your parent screenshots the message and asks the bot directly.

النص التوجيهي
هذه نصيحة، وليست نصًا توجيهيًا للنظام يمكن لصقه. لم ينشر المؤلف نصًا. اتبع خطوات التشغيل الأول.
التشغيل الأول
- 1Read https://x.com/niyogi/status/2107515994294088000 (credit @niyogi).
- 2With your parent's OK, connect their Gmail to one dedicated bot.
- 3Tell it to move scam and spam mail out of the inbox into a review folder, and never reply, click, or delete for good.
- 4Show your parent how to screenshot a suspicious text, upload it to the bot, and ask “is this a scam?”
- 5Look through the review folder together for the first couple of weeks.
حاجز الموافقة
Set it up with your parent's consent. The bot should flag or move suspicious mail, never reply, click links, delete for good, or send money.
ما الذي تعدّله
Protect where the bot can see (email) and teach one simple question where it can't (texts).
