Tip only: Holesail the old-Mac connector instead of Tailscale

Old Mac as connector box works. Tailscale is only one way for Grok Bot to find that port.

نقطة الألم

snxraven (@snxraven) tip on the old-Mac connector pattern: Tailscale is only how Grok Bot finds the port. Prefer Holesail — open source, no accounts, no coordination servers/relays; share a key or QR; direct E2E TCP/UDP that punches NAT/CGNAT. Grok Bot talks to localhost on the Mac; Apple Calendar stays on Apple’s stack; company Outlook policy stays untouched. Tip only — no invented prompt. Not affiliated with xAI.

ماذا تثبّت أو تنشئ

Mac runs the connector locally. Holesail exposes the hop. Bot hits localhost. Calendar/Outlook policies stay put.

الروبوتات

  • Mac connector bot

Talks to localhost services on the old Mac (calendar/reminders/notes) via the Holesail hop.

النص التوجيهي

هذه نصيحة، وليست نصًا توجيهيًا للنظام يمكن لصقه. لم ينشر المؤلف نصًا. اتبع خطوات التشغيل الأول.

التشغيل الأول

  1. 1Read https://x.com/snxraven/status/2102919374453506268 and the linked holesail.io / GitHub docs.
  2. 2Set up your old Mac as the local connector box (calendar/reminders stay on Apple’s stack).
  3. 3Holesail the connector hop (key or QR). Prefer no accounts / no relay if that fits your threat model.
  4. 4Point Grok Bot at localhost on the Mac through that hop — same pattern as Tailscale, different tunnel.
  5. 5Approve any calendar or notes write before it lands.

حاجز الموافقة

Only expose ports you intend. Review key/QR sharing. No calendar or mail writes without your yes.

ما الذي تعدّله

Steal Holesail as a Tailscale alternative for the old-Mac connector hop.
